Ollie’s Pawtry is a small, family run dog treat business based in Canberra, ACT. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit olliespawtry.com.au or buy from us, what we do with it, and what choices you have.

Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), businesses with an annual turnover of $3 million or less are generally exempt from the Australian Privacy Principles. We are one of them. We have chosen to follow those principles anyway, because we think you should know what happens to your information.
What we collect
- Order details. Your name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing address, and what you ordered.
- Payment details. These are entered directly with our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.
- Messages. Anything you send us by email, through a form on this site, or by message on social media.
- Marketing. Your email address, but only if you choose to subscribe.
- Website data. Basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, which pages you viewed and how you found us, collected through cookies.
Why we collect it
- To process, pack and send your order
- To contact you about your order, including arranging local pickup
- To handle returns, refunds and questions
- To send you marketing emails, but only if you have asked for them
- To understand how the site is used so we can improve it
- To meet our tax and record keeping obligations
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We never have, and we have no intention of starting.
We share only what is necessary with the services that help us run the business:
- Payment providers, to process your payment securely
- Australia Post, to deliver your order
- Our website host and email provider, to run this site and to contact you
- Anyone we are legally required to disclose to, such as a court or a regulator
Information held overseas
Some of the services we rely on store data on servers outside Australia. Where that happens we choose providers with appropriate protections in place, but you should know your information may be held overseas.
Cookies
This site uses cookies. Some are essential, such as remembering what is in your cart. Others help us understand how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but if you do, parts of the site including checkout may stop working properly.
Marketing emails
We only send marketing emails to people who have asked for them. Every email has an unsubscribe link and we act on unsubscribes promptly. The Spam Act 2003 (Cth) applies to us regardless of our size, and we take it seriously.
Keeping your information safe
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including a secure connection on this website and limiting who can see order details. No system is ever perfectly secure, but if something goes wrong in a way that affects you, we will tell you promptly.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we need them to run the business and meet our tax obligations, generally at least five years. Marketing subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.
Seeing and correcting your information
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to fix it if it is wrong, or ask us to delete it. Email us and we will help. We may need to hold on to some records where the law requires it.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
